New Zealand inventor Guy Howard-Wheel-Lees had the idea of designing a water bike with an electric motor back in 2012. However, he could not market his product, and his idea was used by anothee designer, Robert Alonzo, who founded the company Manta5. Their key and only product, the Hydrofoiler XE-1, was introduced in early 2020.
